The Story of Gülor Wines
Turkey's First Boutique Wine Producer
Despite being one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world, our country had only produced table wines until the 1990s. But then Turkey embarked on a journey with the aim of producing "the best wines in the world". So in 1993, we set out on the path to produce world-class wines in Turkey.
Under the leadership of Professor Vivas from the University of Bordeaux, with the team we created, consisting of French and Italian experts, we found the southern region of Thrace suitable for our project, following two-year-long analyses concerning various regions of our country's soil structure and climatic conditions.
In 1993, in the ancient viticulture and winemaking region of Şarköy Eriklice village, we determined the grape varieties suitable for our soil structure with the advice of our experts, planted our vineyards, and set up our winery in the midst of our vineyards. We were the pioneers in our country in establishing vineyards with the wire system, and we shared the grapevine cuttings compatible with the region's soil structure that we brought from abroad.
Environment and climate are two key factors in wine production so Gülor is using 100% percent certified renewable energy. Gülor is committed to leaving the next generation a world where they can keep enjoying good wine.
